Episode One

During the funeral of Philip’s mother, Carol, his sister, turns up from abroad after having eloped for years with an Austrian. She came back after hearing of her mother’s situation, but arrived late. Philip’s wife, Yvonne, was passing through psychological problems and she may not accept Carol’s arrival.

Episode Two

Yvonne’s past miscarriage could have been the reason behind her depression and anxiety. The situation between Carol and herself remains the same. Philip’s hunting gun reminds Carol of a childhood incident. Carol is unaware that the gun is loaded, shoots and Yvonne is terribly shocked. A few moments before, Carol had pointed the gun at her without her knowing that it was dangerous.

Episode Three

Suspects between Philip and Yvonne remain unchanged. Philip stops visiting his wife in hospital for a while and Dr. Zimmermann shows he is attracted to her. She becomes aware that her doctor is a person who is understanding her at the moment. The doctor shows her also photographs of some of his patients who have opted to pose for him in order to succeed over a world which has deprived them of their sanity. Yvonne considers this therapy in an attempt to recover once and for all.

Episode Four

Yvonne needs some rest and Philip decides that they spend a holiday in a Gozitan farmhouse. The house is owned by a Consul who has a somewhat strange character. He speaks with Yvonne about the history of his accomodation. Some say that it is haunted. It was true that fifty years before, a woman was assassinated there and that at times, a drop of blood appears on the exact place where the murder took place.…

Episode Five

In this final episode, Yvonne is still obsessed because of Carol’s predominance over her husband and herself. She is cautious that Philip could even betray her to conform with his sister’s attitudes. While Yvonne is awake in the middle of the night, she is shocked at the sight of an elderly person with a knife in hand. Carol does not believe her and Philip seems to do the same. The Consul confesses that at the time of the house’s construction, a secret passageway was dug to provide an access no one may notice….
