Meanwhile it launched another programme for the weekdays: a magazine programme from Monday to Friday presented by Hermann Bonaci, the house director, and Frida Cauchi by the name of Flimkien ma’ Hermann u Frida. This programme was aimed at the morning homebound audience with plenty of interesting and informative spots.

Throughout the 2001-2002 schedule, this programme has been continued, embracing even more aspects of life for the benefit of all tele-viewers. During this same period, Hermann Bonaci Productions commenced its new project, the dramatic teleserial Il-Madonna tac-Coqqa. This serial comprises 26 episodes of 40 minutes length each based on the original score by prolific author Guze’ Diacono adapted for the present day circumstances by John Suda. For summer schedule 2002 Hermann Bonaci Productions continued its daily show in the afternoon Sajf Flimkien on the same path lines of Flimkien but now for a wider audience of different ages including children. Meanwhile Flimkien and Sajf Flimkien remain on course till 2005.

During season 2003/04, Hermann Bonaci Productions changed course in their televised drama. They opted for a new experiment producing various short dramas. These included comedy Dun Benit, 17 episodes written by Joe Gatt; Ghall-Paci u ghall-Mistrieh, a 5 episode thriller scripted by John Suda based on Ronald Saliba’s story; Gideb u Mhabba, a love story with 5 episodes by Jesmond Grech; Min Hu Bla Htija?, Joe Gatt’s 3 episode dramatic political plot ; Sal-Quccata, John Suda’s 6 episode detective story and the classical Tan-Nanna Helu Manna by Frank Ganado recorded live at the Catholic Institute’s stage.

The experiment worked and the television audience wanted more drama with different emotions. Moreover, new spectra were tried out with specialised programmes for greenfinger lovers; Ward u Zahar with 32 editions, and Tommy Toes and Baz…art, programmes for children with 13 editions each.

Season 2005/06 had to be decided by the television audience itself. Many had requested the return of ever-popular Simpatici and the production house produced another 39 fresh episodes, reaching a record of 157 episodes in a Maltese televised production. According to the Media Warehouse independent survey, Simpatici confirmed its popularity rated as the most watched programme in weekends with 72%, almost double the audience of the programme which was won second place.

All the above named transmissions were broadcast on Super One Television. During 2005, Hermann Bonaci Productions extended their viewership to another station; Net Television. Quiz Koppji Koppji was on air for eleven weeks presented by Frida Cauchi and Rennie Vella. Moreover from 2007, magazine programme Flimkien started HBP’s venture on Smash Television.

Hermann Bonaci Productions is not only television inclined. It was responsible for many stage productions in major theatres around Malta and Gozo. These include concerts dedicated to music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, concerts by many established local performers, music and plays.

It is a production house brimming with ideas.
